Dharamsala ! Dharamshala ! The Home of Dalai Lama, Seat of Vedic Spirituality !

Dharamsala, today is more to me than just my hometown. Today

Dharamsala is humming with 'Losar', The Tibetan New Year

celebrations. This small himalayan township is alive and thronging

with International Tourists of all faiths and communities. The main

temple is blessed by the august blessings of His Holiness, The

Dalai Lama. There is an air of harmony, warmth and human

compassion all around the valley. I feel lucky as a mother that my

children are fortunate enough to grow up in this ambience of peace

and laughter !

Almost fourteen years ago when I left Nepal and a well established job

I came here almost on an impulse. From that day onwards it has been

a journey of personal growth for me. There are many unique things in

this tiny town...First of all the flavour of Hot steaming Tibetan 'momos'

to ward off the winter chill...The thrill of seeing a celebrityshop in the

same tibetan market like we do...The sheer enjoyment of cooking hot

meals for hungry guests at my Himalayan home - Vidya Niwas and above

all the wonder of seeing the eternal flame burning at the energy zone

(shakti-peeth) the Ancient Jwalamuchi Temple.......

The Dhauladhar mountains of the Himalayas have always inspired me

and sometimes I think blessed me with a vision. I learnt with the teachings of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and by understanding the 'green earth' traditions of our culture, so much more about where we all come from andwhat we owe to Mother Earth. As a professional Tour Operator for my region,we are involved today in conservation of natural environment and culture.For all those who come to this beautiful town my fond wish is they shouldnot only appreciate the spiritual teachings but take a small partof this town..home and practise 'Good Karma' in life.
