" So many times, I have been told to stop dreaming miracles for myself..but, when I... a homeless puppy could discover a home and the warmth of afamily at Vidya Niwas, Dharamsala..there was no reason for me to think otherwise !

I thought I had discovered it all..the street fights of my puppy days, those tempting garbage packets with exciting food smell and empty inside..the sudden tenderness of the heart when I was snuggled by Nunu and the children, the warmth of the room heater, the box in the room with voices and pictures but, which had no human touch..however, I had heard many times from my mistress and seen the snow pictures of the Himalayas , where this mysterious beast 'Yeti" lived and who had fascinated mankind for long. This was my hour of discovery..!

When the snow came in Vidya Niwas in Dharamsala, there was much hulla ho..noise, fried pakoras and funny snowmen..I slipped away, further up in the hills to search for 'Yeti", a New Years gift to my mistress. The snow an excellent camouflage for my white fur and with the sound of the snowflakes and the waterfall..the tinkle of my bell was lost somewhere..

The darkness came on suddenly, my feet were chilled and sinking..what I thought was Vanilla Icecream was a cold sheath of snow n ice..no taste..definitely not the sweetness of home and hot food. Then I got a faint familiar smell..yes it was my old uncle Tabu and not the Yeti or the wolf ..! Boy ! was I glad to see him, I forgave him for all the bullying moments.

Many hours and many hugs later, I discovered the 'Yeti" was in the far reaches of the Everest in Nepal, like I was told it was time to move on from my fantasy to maybe one day, a climber of the Himalayas..! Dreams they say, are born from the land beyond the stars..Bobo, the pet dog, Vidya Niwas !!
